AI agents are already living inside your CRM and ERP. Did you know?

The management tools you use today are no longer just databases. They became autonomous decision engines.

For years, CRMs and ERPs were information repositories. Places where data was loaded, reports were generated, and someone was expected to read them to make some decision. That model is being replaced at a speed most companies still don’t perceive.

In 2026, the leading platforms in the market (Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo) have already integrated artificial intelligence agents that don’t just show information: they analyze it, detect patterns, and execute actions autonomously.

According to Salesmate data, 85% of global executives expect their employees to trust AI recommendations to make decisions in real time during 2026.

What can an AI agent do inside a CRM today?

The list is already extensive. An integrated agent can identify the leads with the highest probability of closing and prioritize them without anyone asking. It can detect an overdue invoice, generate an automatic reminder, and update the status in the system. It can analyze a customer’s behavior in real time and suggest the next commercial action.

In the case of ERPs, agents are monitoring supply chains, anticipating stock-outs, and adjusting purchase orders before the problem becomes visible. Odoo, for example, already allows you to configure agents that assign leads, send invoice reminders, and generate weekly summaries without human intervention.

The problem nobody mentions

The existence of the technology doesn’t mean it’s working. Most SMBs have these systems active but use them as if they were Excel with a better interface. The agents are there, unconfigured, with messy data, without a clear criterion of what they should optimize.

The difference between a company that uses its CRM to record sales and one that uses its CRM to make decisions is enormous. And it’s not a software difference. It’s a difference in criteria.

What this means for your company

If you use HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, or any modern ERP and don’t have agents configured, you’re paying for capacity you’re not using. But before configuring agents, you need to be clear about which decisions you want them to make. Without that, the technology doesn’t help.
